Tampines Neighbourhood 9

Tampines Town Council and the Housing Development Board

Award Winning, Residential

Team Design Architects won the largest neighbourhood renewal programme competition organised by the Tampines Town Council. The selection process involved feedback and comments received from participating households, then collated and analysed by a working committee. Through this process, our winning design titled 'The Gathering Place' secured popular voting majority. This project has the aim of pushing the boundaries of design to develop unique spaces that supports dynamic interactions and creative self-expressions, incorporating a variety of educational elements and which provide fun and engaging learning experiences for the residents. Exciting features include the Cultural Hub which is a circular walkway and metallic sculpture, the Graffiti Walk which allows residents a chance to showcase their artistic talents creatively in chalk, the 91 Exchange which allows residents to setup weekend shops for marketing their own goods, the Sensory Garden, Maze Garden and the Green Belt which provides horticultural garden spaces for residents to come closer with nature and to plant their own crops, and the Senior Citizen's Corner.
